I figured I would take some time to say a few things about myself!
I have been dancing since the age of 4, where I would literally try to mimic the Ballerinas I saw on television whenever “The Nutcracker” was on. I was always the squirmy one that had to be moving around at all times. Needless to say dance and movement was love at first sight!
I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance Performance from East Carolina University, and I am a member in good standing of AEA and SAG / AFTRA.
After working for some time in Theatre and Dance I decided to branch out and add the career of Fitness to my repertoire. Having done some teaching in Dance and Theatre in the past I knew that I have a passion for teaching and helping people of all ages as well as performing.
I am certified as a NASM Personal Trainer, an AFAA Primary Group Exercise Trainer, AFAA Perinatal Fitness, as well as holding certifications in Pilates, Piloxing, and Zumba Basic. My teaching experience includes Dance Program Director at Camp Wicosuta in New Hampshire (an upscale summer camp), receptionist and Fitness instructor at Simply Fit Astoria, Piloxing and Zumba instructor at Shotokan Karate Studio in Queens, and Piloxing and Dance Cardio Sculpt at Elements Fitness Studio in Manhattan.
Currently I am working with private clients.
In the field of Dance Performance I had been assisting choreographer Yuka Kawazu with her dance company Danse En L'air up until I gave birth to a new little baby boy (Connor). Yuka is also a faculty member at several New York City dance studios, including Ballet Arts, Dance Molinari, and The Broadway Dance Center.
Directed a play last February, A Feminine Ending by Sarah Treem , and decided to start a theatre company. Headwall Theatre Company in Astoria. Looking forward to producing and directing in this exciting new endeavor.
